WGN – After more than five hours of presentations, testimony and input from the community, the Chicago Plan Commission on Thursday voted to move forward with a proposed quantum computing campus on the Far South Side.

The planned Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park development brings with it the promise of thousands of new jobs, a boost to the economy, more affordable housing opportunities and other benefits, but it hasn’t been without pushback from some local organizations and community members.
